Yellow, this is one of my favorite colors! It is bright, joyful, and full of sunshine, just an all over cheery color. It is no surprise that yellow is associated with sunshine and yes it is the brightest color, brighter than white!
The color yellow stimulate mental activity and generates muscle energy. People associate yellow with intellect and wisdom. Yellow rooms are said to boost test scores however, in infants rooms (especially preemies), too bright a yellow is said to be a developmentally challenging color. Yellow produces optimism and idealism. It radiates a warm mood and arouses cheerfulness. Yellow is an energizing color and has a warming effect. Yellow used in flags often represent honor and loyalty. Yellow foods are associated with freshness.
A dull yellow color on the other hand can be perceived as sickness, decay and jealousy. Yellow is widely use to show caution. Yellow is eye catching, it is the brightest color, so many things are yellow to catch your attention – caution tape, taxi’s, the golden arches. Yellow is used to promote children’s products and items related to leisure.
